Deux propositions de stage à l'Institut Pascal (Université Clermont-Auvergne)

Hygrothermal and mechanical behavior of masonry blocks from selectively compacted vegetal concrete

L'institut Pascal propose deux sujets de stage sur la caractérisation mécanique et hygrothermique de blocs de bétons de chanvre compactés de manière sélective :

- internship offer 1: Investigation of the hygrothermal behavior of these novel masonry blocks. The study will include:

  • Experimental testing of hygrothermal properties, including moisture buffer value, thermal conductivity, water vapor diffusion, thermal diffusivity, and thermal effusivity.
  • Numerical modeling to characterize coupled heat and moisture transfer within the different zones of the blocks.
  • Full-scale wall tests, in which masonry walls will be constructed with two different block orientations and evaluated through measurements of thermal transmittance (U-value), phase shift and infrared thermography

- internship offer 2: Investigation of the mechanical behavior of these novel masonry blocks. The study will include:

  • Compression tests with digital image correlation (DIC) to determine the compressive strength and elastic modulus of the blocks.
  • Shear and pull-out tests to characterize the mechanical behavior at the interfaces between selectively compacted zones.
  • Full-scale wall tests, where masonry walls will be built using two different block orientations and subjected to compression and shear loading.
